KSC Phoenix Policies
Keeping Phoenix safe and fair
KSC Phoenix is part of the Knox Basketball junior domestic competition and Basketball Victoria, so the policies and codes of conduct from both organisations apply to everyone at our club. That includes players, coaches, team managers, officials, families and spectators.
Where Phoenix has its own policy, you’ll find it below. Where we don’t, we follow the policies of Knox Basketball and Basketball Victoria. Please take a few minutes to read them.
Player safety always comes first. Our committee takes any breach of a policy or code seriously, whether it’s one of ours or one we follow. If a concern is reported, the player, coach or spectator involved is asked to explain what happened in writing. The committee then reviews it and decides what happens next. That can include a suspension of one week or longer from games, and in serious cases, removal from the club.
We’re a family club, and we want to set a good example in our community. If you have a question or a concern, email our secretary at ksc.secretary@outlook.com.

KSC Phoenix Child Safe Policy
Every child at KSC Phoenix has the right to feel safe, and their wellbeing always comes first. Our Child Safe Policy explains how we protect children, from checking volunteers and coaches to listening to what children tell us. It also shows families how to raise a concern.

KSC Phoenix Child Safe Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct sets out how every coach, volunteer, official and family member behaves around children at Phoenix. It covers respect, inclusion, privacy and appropriate contact, so children can enjoy the game and families know what to expect. Anyone who sees a breach can report it to the club secretary.
3
First Aid Policy
Our Team Managers are there to care for our players and are briefed on our First Aid Policy. This includes how first aid kits are given to teams, what’s in them and how they’re returned at the end of each season.
4
Heat Policy
Player safety comes first when it’s hot. Training is cancelled when the forecast is 36°C or above. From 31°C, coaches run lighter sessions with regular drink breaks. It also covers hydration and rest during games.
